Many customers ask what is the difference between silicone and TPE and why the price difference is a bit big?
Please watch the video below
Silicone on the left, TPE on the right
Silicone is a thermosetting elastomer with the advantages of being safe and non-toxic. It is insoluble in water and any solvents, non-toxic and odorless, has stable chemical properties, and does not react with any substance except strong alkali and hydrofluoric acid. It has high adsorption performance, good thermal stability, and stable chemical properties. It is widely used in adult products and food products.
TPE is a thermoplastic elastomer that is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, easy to color, smooth and soft to the touch, with a hardness range of 0A-120A. It is easy to process and does not require vulcanization. It can be recycled and reused to reduce costs. It can be coated and bonded with plastic materials such as PP, PE, PC, PS, ABS (secondary injection molding), or it can be molded alone.
Look at this set of photos and you will clearly know the difference Dynamic silicone will be more realistic and the material is more environmentally friendly, hygienic and safe
Comparing the two vaginas, you can tell which one is better. Silicone can be said to be very close to the feeling of a real person~
TPE is a general term for a variety of elastomeric materials that have rubber elasticity at room temperature and can melt and flow at high temperatures. Silicone is a special rubber that has good mechanical strength, wear resistance and high temperature resistance after cross-linking. It is a thermosetting rubber that will not melt when heated after vulcanization. It will burn when the temperature is too high. The products of complete combustion are water and silicon dioxide.
From the processing performance point of view: Silicone needs vulcanization and heating to form, while TPE can be processed and formed without vulcanization. Silicone is difficult to process, while TPE is easy to produce and process. Silicone has an advantage over TPE in terms of high temperature resistance. Silicone is generally resistant to temperatures between 200 and 300 degrees Celsius, while TPE is generally resistant to temperatures between 130 and 150 degrees Celsius. If it is higher, it will age and crack.
